Stab Resistant Armour

Essentially there are three levels of body armour available to our clients. Stab resistant, spike resistant and ballistic resistant. Our stab and spike resistant armour meets the standards set down by the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) body armour standards 2003.


Ballistic Resistant Armour

Safety-Tec's ballistic resistant body armour is manufactured from the highest quality materials such as DYNEEMA. This material is 40 times stronger then steel and offers uncompromised levels of protection. Safety-Tec offers both HOSDB (UK) certified ballistic resistant armour and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified body armour (USA). Whatever ballistic threats you may face, from low calibre rounds to armour piercing rounds, Safety-Tec can provide you with the armour you require.


Dual Use armour

All of Safety-Tec's stab resistant vests can also be provided with spike resistance and/or ballistic resistance. We can offer stab resistant vests, stab and spike resistant vests, and stab, spike & ballistic resistant vests to any standard.


What vest suits you?

If you face threats from fire arms you should determine what calibre of ammunition you are most likely to face and refer to the table on our Protection Levels page. If you face threats from knives only, then KR1/KR2 protection should be adequate however if you face threats from spikes then a combination of KR/SP rated armour should be used. Dual purpose vests are also available (both ballistic & stab/spike). Remember it is better to have an adequate level of armour than an inadequate level!


Please note that no body armour is 100% stab, spike or ballistic resistant. Our armour is tested and certified by the appropriate authorities. Armour cannot be tested against every possible type of weapon angle of attack, force, multiple strikes etc. It does however offer excellent resistance to its certified level.
